International students admitted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette should review the information below and are encouraged to visit the Office of International Affairs site to learn more about immigration procedures, medical insurance, housing, and many other topics.

Important New Information for International Students
 
Effective 1 September 2004 and updated October 2008, international students (F-1 and J-1 visa applicants) applying for admission to an American university are required to pay a SEVIS I-901 fee to the United States Department of Homeland Security.
  • F-1 visa applicants ($200 US)
  • J-1 visa applicants ($180 US)

NOTE for UL Lafayette Applicants:

To be able to pay this fee, individuals:
  1. must be admitted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and
  2. must be in receipt of an I-20 or DS-2019 that contains a SEVIS ID number.
